Ingredients

The Savory Architecture
  • 2 ounces premium vodka
  • ½ ounce high-quality olive brine juice from the olive jar
  • 1 small dash a "whiff" dry vermouth
  • Cracked ice for shaking
The Structural Garnish
  • 2 to 3 colossal-size green olives pimento or blue cheese stuffed, optional

Method

The Thermal Build
  1. Fill a professional stainless steel cocktail shaker halfway with cracked ice. The massive surface area of cracked ice ensures rapid thermal transfer, chilling the alcohol instantly.
  2. Pour the 2 ounces of premium vodka and the ½ ounce of cloudy olive brine directly over the ice.
The Aromatic Wash
  1. Pour a single, tiny dash of dry vermouth into a heavily chilled crystal martini glass.
  2. Swirl the vermouth around the interior of the glass to coat the walls, then discard the excess liquid. This technical step (an aromatic wash) leaves behind the delicate, dry botanical notes of the vermouth without overwhelming the savory profile of the olive brine.
The Violent Shake
  1. Seal the cocktail shaker tightly and shake with absolute violence for exactly 15 seconds. Unlike a stirred martini (which remains clear and silky), aggressively shaking a dirty martini forces the heavy olive lipids to mechanically bind with the vodka and water, creating the cocktail's signature opaque, cloudy appearance.
The Pour & Presentation
  1. Immediately strain the severely cold, highly aerated liquid through a Hawthorne strainer into the vermouth-washed crystal glass.
  2. Skewer 2 to 3 colossal green olives on a polished silver cocktail pick. Rest the skewer across the rim of the glass, allowing the bottom olive to just touch the surface of the drink, and serve instantly.
