Ingredients
  

The Foundation
  • 1/2 tbls powdered sugar
  • fresh mint leaves for crushing
The Proof
  • 1 glass bourbon rye, or Canadian whisky
  • cracked ice
  • 3 sprigs of mint for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 Authentic silver julep tumbler
  • 1 Heavy-duty wooden muddler
  • 1 Polished silver bar spoon
  • 1 Crushed ice mallet or lewis bag

Method
 

The Extraction
  1. Use a long tumbler and crush mint leaves and dissolved sugar lightly together.
The Pour
  1. Add spirits and fill glass with cracked ice.
The Frost
  1. Stir gently until glass is frosted. Decorate on top with 3 sprigs of mint.
