Johnny Appleseed Punch

A festive autumn punch created especially for young guests. Sweet apple cider, pear nectar, and sparkling apple cider in a bubbly harvest drink every bit as special as the grown-ups' version.

Ingredients
  

Johnny Appleseed Punch
  • 1 1/2 cups chilled apple cider
  • 1/2 cup chilled pear nectar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Cinnamon-Brown Sugar Syrup (You Can Cook Anything - Volume 5)
  • 2 cups chilled sparkling apple cider
Garnishes
  • Thin apple slices
  • Fresh pear slices
  • Cinnamon sticks (for stirring)
  • Star-shaped apple slices (optional, cut with a small cookie cutter)

Equipment

  • Large glass pitcher or punch bowl
  • Ladle
  • Mason jars or clear glasses
  • Small star cookie cutter (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a pitcher, combine the apple cider, pear nectar, lemon juice, and Cinnamon-Brown Sugar Syrup. Stir well and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
  2. Just before serving, gently stir in the sparkling apple cider.
  3. Pour into four festive glasses and garnish each with an apple slice, pear slice, and cinnamon stick.

Notes

Serve the punch in mason jars or clear glasses with striped paper straws and let each child choose their own garnish. They love helping create their own special drink.
