Rudolph's Red Nose Fizz

A sparkling holiday punch made especially for little hosts. Bright cranberry and orange sweetened with fragrant Rosemary Simple Syrup and topped with sparkling water.

Ingredients
  

Rudolph's Red Nose Fizz
  • 1 1/2 cups chilled cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup Rosemary Simple Syrup (You Can Cook Anything - Volume 5)
  • 2 cups chilled sparkling water or lemon-lime sparkling water
Garnishes
  • Fresh cranberries
  • Orange slices
  • Small sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • Red sugar for rimming glasses (optional)

Equipment

  • Large glass pitcher
  • Shallow saucer (for rimming)
  • Clear glasses
  • Punch bowl (for a crowd)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a pitcher, combine the cranberry juice, orange juice, and Rosemary Simple Syrup. Stir well and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
  2. Just before serving, gently stir in the sparkling water.
  3. If desired, rim the glasses with red decorating sugar. Fill each glass with ice and pour in the punch.
  4. Garnish with a few floating cranberries, an orange slice, and a small rosemary sprig that resembles a tiny Christmas tree. Serve immediately.

Notes

Set out bowls of cranberries, orange slices, rosemary sprigs, candy canes, and festive paper straws so young guests can decorate their own drinks. They'll love creating a holiday beverage that looks just as special as the grown-ups' cocktails.
