The Heart of the Table
Taking something as ordinary as an everyday vegetable and treating it with immense care is a beautiful reflection of how we should treat each other. Passing a warm, golden, buttery platter across the table turns a weeknight staple into a quiet celebration, reminding our families that they are worth the extra effort, even on a Tuesday.
Neighborly Grace
- THE PRESENTATION: Serve this directly from the rustic ceramic baking dish. The visual contrast between the bright green florets and the heavy, golden-brown crust of the garlic breadcrumbs and chopped egg is stunning. Encourage guests to scoop deeply to ensure they get plenty of the buttery crumbs that have fallen to the bottom.
- THE POUR: A rich, lightly oaked Chardonnay. You need a white wine with enough buttery body to stand up to the fried breadcrumbs, while possessing enough acidity to complement the slightly bitter notes of the broccoli.
- THE VIBE: Elevated comfort. This is the perfect sophisticated side dish for a Sunday roast chicken or a thick slice of baked ham.
