Jen's Soft Peanut Brittle was Very Yummy Indeed
The truly operative word regarding this particular dessert is exactly that: “was”. The beautiful half-pound bag of dense peanut brittle I ordered all the way from Maricopa, Arizona was briefly admired, deeply appreciated, and completely scarfed down before the weekend was out.
Grammar & Baking
Jen's Soft Peanut Brittle is an incredible home business, entirely owned and operated by NANA Network fan, Jenny Gould Gibbs Mertes. She is a dedicated writer by day and an artisan candy maker by night. Actually, I probably should ask her to clarify that flow—maybe it’s entirely the other way around! Jenny is officially a fiction editor at Brighton Publishing, harboring a fierce dual love of relentless grammar and flawless baking.
After she made several batches of extra-soft peanut brittle for a client with braces, Jorg.com sat down with her to talk about what makes her particular candy operation so special.
"Every single time someone does a taste test and walks out with a plate of candy and a massive grin, saying they've never tasted anything so good, I immediately feel fulfilled."
An Artisan Delivery
As someone who harbors a wildly undeniable sweet tooth (and I am positively sure I speak for a lot of my fellow Nanas out there), I will gracefully take that sentiment as a compliment. I was genuinely delighted to discover that Jenny’s product tasted exactly like a massive, thick peanut butter cookie—every single shard completely melting on the tongue. I absolutely loved how she utilized the enormous, chewy chunks of nuts in every artisan piece.
Since the vast majority of Jenny’s magnificent candy is purchased and enjoyed entirely within her own Arizona zip code, she incredibly rarely ships it out of state. I was absolutely thrilled to be that rare exception. And the absolute best part? Those little crumbled bits that break off at the bottom of the gorgeous packaging? My household entirely repurposed those shards into our morning smoothies, which was just completely awesome!
